After 20 years at the independent Bar, I have considerable trial experience in criminal law matters. I am a member of the Legal Services Commission General Panel, Complex Criminal Law Panel, and the Murder Sub-Panel.
My LL.M from Melbourne University was in intellectual property, with a particular interest in the rights of musicians and songwriters.
Since 2007 I have been the South Australian Senior Member of the Veterans' Review Board. The Veterans Review Board (VRB) is a high volume merits review administrative tribunal.
The VRB is the first tier of review for Australian veterans and war widows who have had their claim rejected by the Repatriation Commission (Department of Veterans' Affairs).
All members of the Board are independent Commonwealth statutory appointments. Senior Members of the VRB determine issues of fact and law. Services Members and ordinary Members determine issues of fact.
I was an officer in the Australian Regular Army and thereafter an officer in the Army Reserve.
